Wonder Woman continues to amaze at the box office, officially topping Deadpool‘s impressive $363 million domestic haul.The film took in another $10.1 million this weekend, bringing its domestic total to $368 million, making a $400 million domestic finish entirely plausible. With $377 million internationally, Wonder Woman now sits at
$745 million at the worldwide box office. An impressive feat for a film many critics and fans doubted would even cross $5- million in its opening weekend.
Wonder Woman is currently the tenth largest superhero release domestically of all-time, just one of the many titles earned by the film since its release in June. Patty Jenkins earned the honor of having the biggest opening weekend for a film directed by a female director, while the film has officially become the top-grossing live-action film directed by a woman. Even more impressive? Wonder Woman is now the DC Extended Universe’s top film domestically ever.Well if you ask me,thats pretty impresive for a female theme super hero movie
As of right now, Jenkins has yet to officially sign on to direct the sequel — even though she’s working on a treatment with DC Films’ Geoff Johns. Talks are currently ongoing between Jenkins and the studio, with hopes that Jenkins will return to direct the sequel.
In theaters now, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright as General Antiope,, David Thewlis as Ares, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Elena Anaya as Doctor Poison and Lucy Davis as Etta Candy.I want to take back my prediction on Wonder Woman earnings. It has now overtaken Suicide Squad in earnings and has now earned $745.8 million globally. At this rate, it might hit $800 million before it finally completes its box office runs.
